I was annoyed at how you’re forced to shutdown/restart Windows 8. It doesn’t make sense for PCs without touch support and I’m sure it will confuse and infuriate a lot of people. I wrote a simple installer (x86/x64 only) that adds shutdown and restart buttons to the Windows 8 Start menu, along with other power management commands (hibernate, sleep, standby, etc). Now you can shutdown with one click. Remove any buttons you don’t want by unpinning them from the Start screen.
